We start from Petra with the church of Virgin Mary which stands on a high rock and that has 114 footsteps to the top. You can stroll along the seafront and also look at the small back streets of the village. Then we drive through the villages of Anaxos and Skoutaros to reach the turtle pool just outside of Skalochori. In Skalochori you can see an old Turkish minaret. We continue our route to the Limonos Monastery (Agios Ignatios), which is located close to Kalloni. It is the largest but also the oldest monastery on the island with more than 100 little churches in the surrounding area. Later we go to the tourist resort Skala Kalloni which is known for its unique specie of sardines. It lays along the Gulf of Kalloni and has a nice square (plateia). After your stroll around, we return back to Petra.
