We start from Petra with the church of Virgin Mary which stands on a high rock and that has 114 footsteps to the top. You can stroll along the seafront and also look at the small back streets of the village. Then we drive towards the salt plains where you can see the flamingos and other type of bird life. After we continue our route along the Gulf of Kalloni and pass Achladeri, driving into the forest area of south Lesvos. We discover nice nature scenery as we pass the mountain villages of Ampeliko and Akrasi but also Melinda which lays along the beach, to end up in Plomari. Plomari is the second largest town on the island with its famous ouzo. Here you can stroll along the main street, head into the backstreets to find little shops or you can visit the ouzo museum. After you have spent enough time in Plomari, we return back to Petra via the Gulf of Gera (breathtaking scenery).
